October Camp - Smoking Meat
MEAT SWEATS AND YEAST
Galatians 5:9 “A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough.”

How can we become an "environment changer"?
Just a little yeast can make the whole loaf rise. The young men were presented with the question, "How can you be a positive impact on your surroundings?" Even in a bad situation or when surrounded by negativity, you can be the turning point for the whole group you are around.

Proper Prep
Preparation can make all the difference. We learned about removing the membrane on the back of the ribs and how to season ribs to smoke them perfectly.
The young men learned proper flavoring and tenderizing technique using an injector and seasoning to make a delicious chicken leg quarter.

MEAT SWEATS
Let's just say we had plenty of food. We made seven racks of ribs and 25lbs of chicken. We ended the day stuffed and still sent home a 1/2 rack of ribs for the young men to provide dinner to their families.

Oh, and we had a ton of playtime
While patiently waiting for the meat to smoke we played, hung out, and had intentional conversations about life. Sometimes we all just need a day in the park.
